Yes, it's true that Priceline really does show six patents on their website. I don’t know exactly which patents apply to the wonderful technology that supports the Name Your Own Price option but it requires only a little bit of flexibility on your part for significant additional savings. You can determine the number of quality stars earned by your hotel (so you can not worry about the quality). You must agree to travel on a major airline within a reasonable window of time (there aren't any unexpected "red-eye" trips) on the days of your choosing, with no more than one connecting stop along the way. Then you specify what you want to pay and the Priceline gremlins go out and use their considerable influence to bring you the best hotel and travel deals. There may be times when you must make adjustments if nobody is biting at your initial offer. That is a pretty cool way to save some serious money. Naturally, you may instead use the powerful standard Priceline search function and power of negotiation to get a killer price on specific hotels, cruises, flights and other travel deals that you select. The company keeps their fees as low as possible to beat out Expedia, Travelocity and the others on prices. Priceline has recently added a feature where you can find travel deals on your iPhone; they call it the "Negotiator App." Now you can name your own price over the phone. What will they think of next?
